Rescue Mission Gift Bag Event

Discount Retail Store Services, a national retail store development company headquartered in Las Vegas, is gearing up to give back to the Las Vegas community during this holiday season.

Helping our Community

DRSS has identified and contacted key groups to partner with in this effort, such as Safe Nest, Shade Tree Shelter, The Las Vegas Rescue Mission, and "Tent City." The company will be preparing over 880 gift bags that will be distributed to those in need served by these organizations.

The various charities have provided their clients' needs by gender and age. The company's staff will be gathering this Thursday, December 16th, at 4 pm to assemble the gift bags with the requested items for those in need.

Christmas Rescue Mission Event

It's feast or famine at local charities this holiday season, with some enjoying increased donations and others making do with less.

While charitable giving has rebounded somewhat nationally as the economy slowly improves, Southern Nevada's charities are still reporting a mixed bag at the time of year they go through immense quantities of food and other goods to make the holidays cheerier for the valley's neediest residents.

The Las Vegas Rescue Mission is among the more fortunate

“We are ahead in canned goods and food donations by almost 25 percent over last year at this time,” said Bob Brunner, executive director of the organization that offers shelter and recovery for homeless people, among other services.

Discount Retail Store Services Sets Goal of $10,000 for Charity Drive

This year’s “Christmas Gift Bags” drive expected to be most successful ever, DRSS announces. Donations to benefit 3 Square, The Las Vegas Rescue Mission, Safe Nest, The Shade Tree, Woman’s Development Center, Nevada Homes for Youth, and A Place Called Hope at Ranch High School.

This year Discount Retail Store Services will be packing hundreds of gift bags with nearly $10,000.00 in much needed items for the Valley’s poor and needy. On the 18th of December, as a company, DRSS will spend the evening packing the gift bags which will be delivered the next day to a number of charitable organizations and families. Suppliers and partners to DRSS have already chipped in with cash and item donations according to the company, but more donations are appreciated. This year the local community is invited to participate in this much needed drive.

Discount Retail Store Services would like to announce their annual “Christmas Gift Bags” drive has begun and to invite the local community to participate in this year’s event.

A Tradition of Giving

Discount Retail Store Services, a small local business development company, holds a “Christmas Gift Bags” charity drive each year in order to provide Las Vegas’ most needy with essentials and gifts in order to make their Holiday Season a little brighter. Last year they were able to raise just over six thousand dollars in gifts including clothing, bathroom products, food, toys and clothing for babies and kids, school supplies, books, and much more. Recipients ranged from low income families to the homeless. Included on the list were shelters, rescues, and schools with high poverty and homeless rates.
